Report
Framing lumber trading downshifted from the previous week¨s higher
gear. A key factor was another winter storm that hammered the
eastern half of the U.S., with cold temperatures affecting
production and trading as far down as the Deep South. Even so, some
traders said the market showed more life than they would have
expected given the time of year and the weather in the East. Price
gains continued to far outstrip losses, and the Random Lengths
Framing Lumber Composite added another $4, to finish at $404.

Random Lengths Panel Market Report
Severe winter weather stifled structural panel trading. Buying
and selling of OSB took a backseat to discussions about winter
storms, transportation headaches, and the weakening Canadian dollar.
Southern Pine plywood sales were at a crawl as buyers limited
purchases to fill-ins. Bad weather was a major distraction. Western
Fir plywood trading was quiet as weather conditions slowed
consumption across a large swath of the U.S. and allowed buyers to
hold off on purchases.
