Wal-Mart Stores sold more furniture than any other U.S. retailer in 2002, making it the first non-conventional furniture store to receive the designation in 10 years, according to a survey by Furniture/Today magazine.

Furniture/Today said Wal-Mart sold $1.24 billion in furniture and bedding in 2002, up 14 percent from 2001, citing the Furniture/Today ranking.
