Germany: Summer price rally continues for pine logs
More and more sawmills are experiencing a shortage of
beetle-damaged wood. In most areas of Germany, only a small
volume of beetle-damaged wood has accumulated so far. Some
forestry companies have therefore made use of the contractual
option, which had already been apparent at the end of June, to
deliver less than the agreed volumes.
Estonia: Trunk timber prices are developing differently
In the second quarter of 2025, the prices of coniferous logs in
Estonia developed in the opposite direction. While Kiefer became
cheaper, the price of spruce trunk wood moved upwards. Hardwood
logs have become noticeably cheaper during this period.
Lithuania: industrial wood prices below previous year's
level
The prices for industrial wood in Lithuania continued to decline
noticeably in June 2025 for softwood, but increased for
hardwood. Also in comparison with the corresponding period of
the previous year, the prices for spruce are strong, for pine
clearly and for birch noticeably.
Lithuania: Trunk timber prices are developing differently
In June 2025, the prices of softwood logs in Lithuania have
fallen noticeably compared to the previous month, while birch
logs have become more expensive. Compared to the corresponding
month of the previous year, coniferous logs have improved
significantly overall.
Finland: Industrial wood price increase comes to a
standstill
In June 2025, industrial wood prices in Finland for all ranges
increased by about 5% compared to the corresponding month of the
previous year. On the other hand, there is a price decrease of
about 1-3% for all assortments compared to the previous month.
