Türkiye's furniture industry continued to demonstrate resilience
in 2025 despite ongoing global economic volatility, according to
Federation of Woodworking Tradesmen and Craftsmen president
Hüseyin Taklacı.
Speaking about the sector's performance, Taklacı said Türkiye
has strengthened its position as the world's seventh-largest
furniture exporter following two decades of industrial
development and increasing digital transformation among small
and medium-sized businesses.
The country's furniture, paper and forestry products exports
reached $8.4bn in 2025, while net furniture exports totalled
$4.6bn. The sector now includes more than 40,000 businesses and
employs over 420,000 people.
"Furniture continues to be one of Türkiye's locomotive
industries despite global economic volatility," Taklacı said.
Istanbul remained the country's leading export hub with
shipments worth $3.5bn last year, followed by Bursa, İzmir,
Kayseri and Gaziantep.
The federation also highlighted rapid growth across Gulf
markets, particularly in Saudi Arabia, where annual growth
exceeded 200% during 2025.
Iraq remained Türkiye's largest furniture export destination,
followed by the United Kingdom, Germany, United States, Libya
and France.
According to Taklacı, Türkiye increased the number of export
markets generating more than $1m annually to 150 countries in
2025.
