Komatsu Forest has introduced a new generation of forestry
machines, featuring an updated engine platform, driveline
improvements and a more refined operator environment across its
harvester and forwarder ranges.
Komatsu Forest has introduced a new generation of forestry
machines, with comprehensive updates across its harvester range
and six-cylinder forwarders. The upgrades focus on productivity,
fuel efficiency, operator comfort and long-term reliability.
At the heart of the new generation is the AP Core engine
platform, which delivers increased power and torque while
enabling more efficient operation. The higher engine performance
allows the machines to operate at lower engine speeds without
compromising productivity.
All seven harvester models upgraded
Komatsu Forest has updated all seven models in its harvester
range. Among the key changes are new crane designs featuring a
more robust construction, additional cast components and
increased dimensions in critical areas.
According to Komatsu Forest, the changes improve durability in
demanding operations while maintaining crane performance and
precision.
The hydraulic system has also been optimised to reduce pressure
losses and improve efficiency. A revised hydrostatic
transmission enables high performance at lower engine speeds.
Together with the new engine platform, the changes are designed
to reduce fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions while maintaining
productivity across different operating conditions.

conditions, while enabling lower engine speeds and more
fuel-efficient operation in everyday work.”
New generation for Komatsu 855, 875 and 895
The new-generation forwarder range comprises the Komatsu
855, 875 and 895. The machines receive the same AP Core engine
platform as the harvesters, together with an updated
transmission.
The upgrades enable higher transport speeds, improved traction
and increased productivity, particularly in challenging terrain.

“The improvements in engine efficiency, driveline performance
and serviceability all contribute to lower cost per cubic metre
and a more reliable machine in daily operations.”
Other updates include more flexible load configurations,
improved crane performance and several design changes aimed at
simplifying service and maintenance. A redesigned access system
and improved component layout are also intended to enhance
operator safety and daily usability.
With its Next Generation range, Komatsu Forest aims to combine
increased productivity and improved operator experience with
lower fuel consumption and reduced environmental impact.
