German sawmill industry produced a total of 4.478 million m3
of sawn lumber
According to preliminary figures from the Federal Statistical
Office, the German sawmill industry produced 3.490 million m3 of
rough-sawn softwood lumber in the second quarter, a decline of
13.9% compared with the same period last year
German particleboard production has fallen slightly once
again
According to preliminary figures from the Federal Statistical
Office, a total of 1.540 million m3 of particleboard was
produced in Germany in the second quarter.
Germany: Production of coniferous sawn timber continues to
fall
Overall, 15 per cent less sawn timber was produced in the first
half of 2026 than in the corresponding period of the previous
year. This decline is primarily due to the significant drop in
coniferous sawn timber production, which accounts for 96 per
cent of total production.
Germany: Industrial wood prices rise
Industrial wood prices rose by 2% in the second quarter of 2026
compared to the previous quarter. Producer prices for
particleboard increased by 8% during the same period, while
import prices for particleboard rose by 12%. Compared to June
