Report
Trading in various framing lumber species was more active in studs
than in random dimension. Trading was mixed geographically, as well.
Buyers in the Upper Midwest were held back by winter weather, while
sales in warmer markets generally picked up. Some customers canvassed
suppliers more aggressively, concerned about covering coming needs on
a timely basis. Gains in prices easily outstripped losses, and the
Random Lengths Framing Lumber Composite hit the $400 mark.

Random Lengths Panel Market Report
Structural panel trading was inconsistent. Mixed signals and
divergent price trends were evident in OSB markets. Block sales at
discounted levels were reported in several producing regions. While
a few Southern Pine plywood mills reported that sales kept up with
production, others reported slack demand. Traders remained
optimistic about near-term prospects, but the week¨s activity was
a disappointment. Western Fir plywood sales were spotty and volumes
were low in an uneventful week of trading.
